Our baby daughter used to be able to swipe across the pictures to get to the next picture. They changed that to "previous/next" buttons placed directly above the advertisements. A baby is going to have a hard time clicking those buttons (and no, they dont always want the parent to do it for them).
For our two-year old daughter, she finally figured out the buttons, but sometimes she clicks the ads. For the free version of this application, I have some sympathy for them trying to increase revenue, but doing so by making an application for babies harder for a baby to use? Whats even worse is that now the advertisement our daughter is clicking is dialing a phone number for an adult-oriented "prank phone call" service and its charging us for these phone calls! Weve discovered that our daughter has accidentally called this number more than once. Deliberately bad design combined with an horrifying advertisement means we will not be paying for the full-version of this application.
We had no idea that ads on our phone could dial phone numbers, much less premium phone numbers, much less adult-oriented premium phone numbers. Its upsetting that Apple would allow this and its even worse that the deliberately bad application design on an app targeting babies leads to this. Im a very unhappy mama.
